This is a short review of my thoughts from my first shadowing experience through the UBC Psychiatry Summer Immersion program, which occurred over June 1-2 2025.

Monday, June 1 - Neuropsychiatry with Dr. Andrew Howard

This was a very intense experience. Consultations were much longer than expected. Patients had complex issues, such as TBI and Parkinson’s. I was surprised by the mental agility and breadth of knowledge Dr. Howard applied to navigate and guide patients’ narratives while distinguishing and assessing neurological and psychiatric issues.

Tuesday, June 2 - Adult Psychiatry with Dr. Sara Junaid
